Malakai Alpaca Stud was formed  in 1993 with the purchase of 2 wethers. Twelve months later we acquired our first pregnant female with a female cria at foot, our herd has now grown to over 100 females.

At Malakai Alpaca Stud it has always been our aim to breed alpacas of superior quality, this prompted us to embark on our first Embryo Transfer Programme in 2005. Our very best females such as Blue Grass Leading Lady, Purrumbete Leader, Kingston Park Dark Angel, Ambleside Sapphire and Benleigh Sierra Lass have been used in the programme. The  crias that have been born from our Embryo Transfer Programme have been outstanding, they have attracted serious breeders from around Australia and the UK
